Getting started
Install an owner-supplied build, open the app, and check your license.
Use this page to prepare Swarmtab before connecting an agent. Download the Mac app from the download page. It runs on Apple Silicon Macs.
Install and open
On macOS, place the supplied Swarmtab app in Applications and open it. The app runs a local server and a Chromium browser. Keep it open while your agents work. Connect shows the app executable’s actual path. That executable supports bridge; it is not the full CLI. Do not assume a separate CLI is bundled or on PATH.
The command examples in these docs use the separate CLI from crates/cli. The CLI is not part of the Mac download yet. Run the supplied swarmtab executable by its full path, or put its folder on PATH yourself. Do not pass doctor, connect, tools or chromium to the app executable.
swarmtab doctor
If Chromium is missing, use the app’s browser controls or the separate CLI to install the pinned browser:
swarmtab chromium install
swarmtab chromium path
Do not substitute an unrelated Chrome installation when troubleshooting a version mismatch. The optional --shell flag selects the headless-shell install instead of the real browser.
First run and license
Use the app’s sign-in and license controls. Sign-in opens the account page in your system browser. A signed-in account still needs an active license on this device. Swarmtab checks a signed local pass and refreshes it with the account server. An expired pass needs a connection to refresh.
The planned sale is a one-time license for one named person on up to three devices. Update coverage is not decided; see the draft Terms. Do not assume lifetime updates. A removed device can hold its slot until its existing offline pass expires; the account page gives the release date.
Connect and check
Open Connect in the app. Pick your client and copy its bridge setup. Follow the client guides, then try your first task.
swarmtab doctor checks the local installation and authenticated MCP connection. It does not grant permissions or bypass the license. If it fails, keep the app open and use Troubleshooting.
