Uninstall and data location
Remove the app and decide separately whether to remove its local data.
Use this page to find local state before uninstalling. Quit Swarmtab and your connected clients first. Uninstalling the app and deleting its data are separate actions.
Data folders
| System | Default folder |
|---|---|
| macOS | ~/Library/Application Support/Swarmtab |
| Windows | %APPDATA%\Swarmtab |
| Linux | ~/.local/share/swarmtab |
SWARMTAB_DATA_DIR overrides the folder. Check your launcher environment before deleting anything. The folder can hold saved spaces, browser downloads, tokens, license and device state, caches, recordings, recipes and pending feedback. Files use owner-only access. Saved-space data is encrypted where the vault applies; not every file is encrypted.
Remove the app
On macOS, quit the app and move the installed Swarmtab application to Trash. For other supplied builds, remove the installation using its normal platform method. There is no built-in swarmtab uninstall command.
Remove only the Swarmtab entry from each client’s MCP config. Keep other servers. The client guides list their config locations. Review any .swarmtab-backup file before removing it; it may contain other client settings.
Remove local state deliberately
Back up any spaces or exports you need, then remove only the data folder you verified. Deleting it loses local state and encryption-key files kept there. Do not delete unrelated application folders or reset the system keychain. A keychain item is separate from the data folder; there is no automatic keychain-erasure command documented here.
Removing local files does not remove your account, purchase records, website data held elsewhere, or data already sent to your model provider. Contact Support for account data requests and manage the device slot through your account page.
