Real browser mode
Understand the visible Chrome mode and the alternative headless shell.
Use the browser-mode controls in the human window to choose how Chromium runs. The current private-build default is real Chrome. Browser mode is a human-only setting; an agent cannot change it through MCP.
What this build runs
Real mode starts full Chromium in headful mode and presents the Google Chrome identity override chosen by the owner. It keeps the --disable-blink-features=AutomationControlled startup flag. Those are existing product choices; these docs do not change them.
Full Chromium and the headless shell are separate programs. The pinned browser install and the browser-mode controls choose the matching program. To install the real browser from the CLI:
swarmtab chromium install
The alternative shell uses swarmtab chromium install --shell. Do not infer the active browser mode from which binaries happen to be installed; inspect it in the window.
Limits
Real mode is not a promise that a site will accept automation. Site terms, permission rules and human checks still apply. Swarmtab does not solve a CAPTCHA. Complete checks by hand in the window.
Browser mode can affect compatibility, rendering and resource use. If a page behaves differently, report the active mode and app version with a minimal reproduction. Do not remove safety settings or attach to another person’s browser profile to work around it.
